Driveway cleaning in Davyhulme

We cleaned this block paved driveway in Davyhulme late summer 2012. These blocks are called Claypave because they are made from clay rather than the standard concrete block paving. They had not been cleaned in years and the joints were full of moss.

Using our high quality pressure washer we removed all weeds and dirt from the paving. This immediately brought out the rich, red colours and made a big improvement.

The jointing sand had become riddled with moss so we took extra care to bring all of that out. We then left the job for 2 days so that the joints could fully dry off.

When we returned to the site we brushed off a few leaves, then applied a fresh batch of kiln dried sand. This is extra dry, fine sand which is used to fill the narrow joints with block paving.

We thoroughly worked the sand into the joints, then brushed off the excess from the surface.

After the driveway cleaning and re-sanding was fully complete the customer in Davyhulme was very happy with the result.

Driveway cleaning in Flixton

This driveway in Flixton is imprinted concrete and was cleaned before being sealed with a colour tint. This type of surface can look rather shabby after 5-10 years and the dye on this one was really fading. The inner concrete was starting to show which meant that the colour was not uniformed

The first step was the power washing, followed by a fungicidal wash. Next we applied a fresh layer of special coating which included a grey dye. The dye had an amazing effect and brought the surface back to it’s former glory.

Driveway cleaning in Urmston

We have completed many driveway and patio cleaning jobs in Urmston inluding the blocked paved path pictured. These blocks are called Marshalls Drivesett Tegula and have a classic cobble appearance. However the yellow border blocks can go very dull if not cleaned properly and the joints in this type of block paving are wider in the corners, which attracts more moss than usual.

We carefully pressure washed the surface in order to clean the path. We always try not to harm plants and flowers but sometimes it is unavoidable so we have to rinse down properly after cleaning is finished.

Once we had cleaned the surface we left the job overnight so that it could dry. The next morning was sunny so we returned early afternoon to re-sand the joints of the block paving. Once this was done we applied a sealer to protect the joints and blocks in future. Moss will not grow as easily when a sealant has been applied.
